Buy grower's bunches in bulk for your DIY Sacramento Wedding Flowers.

You're confident. You've watched tutorials. You're going to DIY wedding flowers. But something is making you anxious - you've heard horror stories about online flower companies: flowers arriving dead from heat or lack of water, frozen, or just plain not what you ordered. Or you worry that going through the local big box grocery and tire place, that your colors or quantity won't be available, or that the types of flowers that they can order for you is very limited. And all of this happening the day or two before your wedding; what can you do?

I can help. Working with my trusted local vendors (that I and other florists use for full-service wedding florals), we'll ensure that your flowers have been taken care of, refrigerated, hydrated, and fed before they get to you. You get to order from the same selection of flowers that I order from - unlike online or at the big box store. AND, I will personally quality-control check your flowers, each bunch, before I leave my vendor to make sure that your flowers are fresh for you and are exactly what you ordered. When you receive your flowers from me, I will give you full instructions on how to prep your flowers for their longest life. Yes - you will pay a little more buying your grower's bunches from me. But isn't peace of mind, because you only have this one special day to do it right, worth it?

How Does It Work?

You decide how many flowers you need of each type and color. We'll sell you "grower's bunches" of flowers at special prices. Growers Bunches are the way the growers package flowers. For instance, roses are usually packaged in bunches of 25 stems. If you need 40 stems, you'll need to buy 2 bunches (50 stems). Need supplies? We'll get those for you, too. Florists use specific supplies that for the most part, are just not available at craft stores.

Minimum order: $150.00

Design Recipe Service

It takes years of floral design school and experience to know how many flowers to order for a wedding.

As an added service, I'll meet with you, or we can virtually meet by email, to assist you in determining the amount of flowers you will need to order for your DIY wedding flowers designs. You should come prepared with an idea of what you want for designs and flowers. We will have a professional design book for you to look at as well. After meeting with you, we will take your ideas, our notes and sketches, and create a custom "floral recipe" for you to use in designing and ordering your DIY wedding flowers and hardgood supplies.

Cost for this service is $75 (for standard designs. Elaborate designs extra charge).

Market Pricing

Flowers are a crop, a perishable product. Flower prices vary depending on whether they are in season locally, if they have to be imported, if there are acts of nature that destroy crops, transportation costs (think of rising fuel costs), if they are premium flowers, and the two weeks before and after a holiday. Also remember that the colors that you see on your computer may not exactly match nature. My vendor and I do our best to match your vision, but because flowers are a natural product, exact color replicas cannot be guaranteed (no florist or floral wholesaler can guarantee colors).

Prices are subject to change but the prices for market flowers give you an idea of how many stems are in a grower's bunch, and what your cost might be. Remember that flowers have seasons, and what might be $10 on the list in July from a California grower might be $22 in January because it has to be imported. Check our links page for some of our basic "design recipes" (which will give you an idea of how many flowers are in a bouquet or simple arrangement - coming soon!), and to other websites that can help you check on flower seasonality and colors. Our Links page also has links to many free online tutorials.

You will need to have 1 bucket available for every 3 bunches of flowers or foliage (any type of bucket is fine, just make sure it is clean with no detergent, cat litter, cat food, etc., in it). If you need to rent my buckets, I charge the retail price of $5 each up front, then return $2.50 each to you by check if they are returned to me within 2 business days after the event (For a weekend event, return the buckets by midnight Tuesday night).

I highly recommend that you purchase hydrating food for your flowers (available here), and to soak any floral foam in the hydrating food as well. In addition, I highly recommend your purchase of an anti-transpirant finishing spray to keep your flowers fresh (available here). These are important tools of the florists' trade to keep your flowers in shape for your big day.

Pick up of your flowers is by appointment in Shingle Springs, or delivery is available for $25 in El Dorado County (West Slope) and Folsom. Delivery is available for $50 in Sacramento, Placer, and Amador Counties, or other places, within a 50 mile radius of Shingle Springs. Any delivery request beyond 50 miles is an additional charge. Save money and pick them up yourself! We're an easy commute up Highway 50, and only 1/2 mile off the freeway - no hilly driving.

August 2008 Market Pricing/Supplies

These prices are available during the month of August 2008. If you are ordering (or looking) for prices, say, for a wedding in March 2008, please email me and I will work with my vendor to provide you with an estimate of flower pricing at that time. The price becomes locked in when you provide a 50% deposit. I will order your flowers and supplies 4 weeks prior to your wedding, at which time the balance is due (if paying by check, balance is due 14 days prior to the order being placed for the check to clear - so 6 weeks prior to your wedding). Flowers must be ordered absolutely no later than 2 weeks prior to event, although 4 weeks is desirable. No refunds will be given once flowers and/or supplies have been ordered.

How to order: Go to the current Market Pricing/Supplies webpage. Print it out. Check off and total what you want. Then email me with your order. Unless you prefer to send a check by postal mail (for which I'll send you a receipt), I'll send you a PayPal Invoice, you verify your order, and you can pay by check or credit card on PayPal's very secure website. I'll contact you by email or phone to verify your order before I order with my vendor. That's how easy it really is!!

Need Rentals?

Yes! We rent glass cubes, cylinders, vases, arches, columns, etc. Why buy when you can rent - after all, what will you do with 12 cylinder vases?? If we don't have it, we can get it. Click here to go to our rentals page.
